In the wake of the latest right wing terrorist attack in New Zealand, I came across this article on how online memes are part of the funnel to radicalize men [footnote]Let’s not kid ourselves, it’s always men[/footnote] into extreme right ideology.

The author, Robert Evans [footnote]Who also hosts the excellent podcast “Behind the Bastards”[/footnote] has more articles on far right radicalization at bellingcat.

The data for this visualization comes from this article, more precisely the discord logs recorded here. Visualization was done with the excellent http://sankeymatic.com – note I only visualized the flow of online visualizations, which is about 65% of the dataset. Visualizing it otherwise made for an ugly plot.
